Write a custom introduction or conclusion for your newsletter

Include your own words (your own blurb) to the introduction or conclusion of your newsletter.

Updated over 9 months ago

1. Log into your Practice Panda account at https://portal.practicepanda.com

2. In the left menu, click "Newsletters" to expand the sub-menu, then select the newsletter you want to edit. In the example below, we are selecting the "Client Update" newsletter.

3. Next, click on the "Manage Newsletter" button for the newsletter you would like to write the custom introduction and/or conclusion for.

NOTE: If you clicked Client Update newsletter from the left menu as shown in step 2., you can skip this step and proceed to step 4.

4. Scroll down and click on "Manage Introduction" (a.) or "Manage conclusion" (b.), as shown in the screenshot below.

For the purpose of this guide, we will go into "Manage your custom introduction", since writing a custom conclusion works the same way as writing an introduction does. As a reminder, you can customize both the custom introduction and the custom conclusion and they will work in a similar way.

5. On the following Introduction page, you will either see the default introduction (if it's during the preview week) or you will see a note saying what day the preview will be available.

NOTE: You can write a custom introductions whenever you'd like, however you may like to see the default introduction before you decide if you want to write a custom one. If that's the case, you can simply wait until the preview for the next newsletter to come out.

To write your custom introduction, click on "Custom Introduction"

  1. Click "Custom Introduction"

  2. Custom Introduction: In the Custom Introduction textbox, write your own content for your newsletter's intro.

OPTIONAL: If the preview is available, you can click on the "Copy default introduction text" button as shown below. This will copy and paste the default introduction into the box and then you can add on to it, remove things, or edit it to your liking.

  3. Custom social text: If you have additional text you want to add that will display in the social media post for the newsletter, enter it here.

OPTIONAL: You can choose how long you want to use your custom introduction/conclusion settings that you just made by selecting a month + year from the "Use these settings through" drop-down.

The default is to always use them just for the upcoming month. If you want to change this, click the arrow on the menu as shown above to use it for longer, or even apply to all future newsletters (until you tell it otherwise).

  4. Click "Save custom Introduction" when you're finished adding your custom content.

NOTE: If you set an end-date to run the custom intro for (as described in the optional section of step. 5.3), then whatever month you instruct the system to run the custom intro through will be included. For example, if December 2024 is selected, then the custom introduction will be used or all the months prior to and including December. Once the end-date is reached, the newsletter will revert back to the default settings for the January newsletter and later (unless you go back and extend it manually).

When are newsletters available for preview?

You can preview newsletters starting one week before they are published. Depending on your subscription level you may have only the client update newsletter, or all 3 newsletters.

Each newsletter goes out on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Wednesday of each month. So one week before those dates you'll be able to preview the newsletter you're subscribed to.
